{SMT - Lykken er....}

Scrapping the music has this time chosen a song by Hanne Krogh "Hapiness is". From that song there are many possible phrases to use as a text for a layout. I chose "hapiness is a bucket with sand". On the photo my son is playing with sand, in a playground in the city we live in. Totally cute! I used my own homemade background for this layout. The background is made with multi medium, white paint from Claudine Helmuth, news paper, bees wax and my sewing machine.

{Sukkersøtt # 33 - clean and simple} - 2 entries!

Over at Sukkersøtt the challenge this week is to make a card that's clean and simple. Most cardmakers in Scandinavia use a lot of embellishments, like flowers, lots of layers and use the vintage style a lot.
This first card here was made on Saturday, when I was with a good friend. A cropnight at her place :). The stamp is Shorty'n' friends made by Anneline Nyvold, really cool image, don't you think. It's a kinda Manga look! I colored the image with my Promarkers, I see now that one has to practice a lot, the same as coloring with other techniques (like distress inks or Prismacolors). The paper is some scrap paper from my friend, since I didn't bring any papers with me on the crop night we had! Thanks, Linda! The round text stamp is from Kreativ Hobby, and the other just beneath the stamped image is from Norsk Stempelblad AS. Translated to English the text is: The thoughest boy in the street!

The other card is a card I'm going to send to a co-worker, she and her husband have been married for 25 years this April. I thought the image by Stampavie was excellent! Other supplies are: say it in crystals (pearl), nestabilities, ribbon. Inside the card I have used a text stamp by Norsk Stempelblad. The papers are really old, I don't remember the brand.

{Magnolia vs Stampavie - Mother's day card}

This week over at the Magnolia vs Stampavie challenge blog the challenge is to make a Mother's day card. Mother's day was in February in Norway, but still, a card for my mum, is nice to make and send. The color on this photo looks a bit odd, but it's purple/lavender. I used a Tilda with rose, she's beautiful! The text stamp is from Norsk Stempelblad, and is translated to 'Dear Mom'. The inside card has been stamped with stamp from Stempelglede.
TFL!

2 new cards

I really enjoy to make my own backgrounds after attending a class at Steffens with Connie, a couple of weeks ago. this card was made with distress on watercolor paper. The stamp is from Paperbag studios. Really nice - don't you think! I bought 2 sets of this stamps about 6 months ago, and have not been good at useing them. I stamped on glossy paper, and colored with nibs and a small sponge. The text stamp is from Kreativ Hobby, and the other stamp is from Stempelglede (grunge collection).

This other card is with Magnolia, from the new Spring kit. It's so lovely, don't you think? The image is colored with Promarkers. Other supplies are: MM paper, Stampin' Up punch, bling, MS punch, buttons, floss, EK Success circle punch and Nestabilities.

{Sukkersøtt #32 - color sheme challenge}

Couldn't resist doing another card for this lovely challenge over at Sukkersøtt. The challenge is to use colors - you find the colors here.
I made this card with the same Magnolia stamp from the Spring kit. Colored with distress ink. There is not very much brown in this card, only the hair, basket, shoe laces and the dress...

Supplies: green bazzil, blue pearls, patterned paper ?, Prima, McGill punch, Magnolia stamp colored with distress ink.

{A little prince}

A lot of my friends are expecting babies this Spring/Summer, so yesterday I made this cute small card only 10x10 cm. The stamp is the only "baby" stamp I've got, but I think it's so cute :). It's an old magnolia stamp. The card is very simple, but cute... The image is colored with distress ink.

Supplies: craft and white cardstock, paper from Kaisercraft, corner punch from panduro for only 10 NOK, McGill punch, Prima, scalloped punch, sentiment is from Norsk Stempelblad AS.

I don't make many layouts these days, but yesterday evening, when my husband watched football on the telly, I made this layout. The photo is very old, I think my son was only 6-7 months old then. {Learing how to stamp?}

Today my son and I bought some crafting stuff for him. Some 'plastelina', Hama beads and a stamp set for kids. The stamps were actually quite nice. My son borrowed my Versa mark ink. Lot of fun for us both! This is perfect for me, since I can get some crafting done, when he's sitting next to me! :) And he sits quite still for a little time!

{Vacation in Vietnam?}

This photo of my son was taken in Vietnam, outside Nha Trang (south of Vietnam) February 2008... We went with boat out to a totally desertet island, with only a small family living there. A 'private beach' and eating sea food in the families back yard... Peders dad took this lovely photo when our son sat down on the stairs...

It was a lovely vacation, with a lot of sun, lovely food and very happy days with our friends there.

Yesterday we got an invitation from our Vietnamese friends - they live in Oslo - to go with them and spend some weeks this summer in Vietnam.

They are going there to celebrate a family members 70th birthday. And they asked us to join them. So, if we get the time off at work, and some other things turns out right, maybe we'll go!!!

And I remember last year, I thought there would be at least 2 years 'till we would go....

Oh... I'm looking forward to sun and summer - and maybe in Vietnam with our friends! :)

{Sweet dreams}

Here's a photo I just love, I've made other layouts with this photo. The photo was taken in Vietnam (Ho Chi Mihn city, former Saigon). We had a long flight over, and our son didn't get much sleep. When we finally arrived, he slept, slept, and slept... He was just so adorable when he slept in our bed in the hotel room.Ops! I see that something has landed on the photo as I took a photo of the layout... the rubon says "my baby" and the little black tiny thing is not supposed to be there at all! Sorry!

Supplies: fancy pants, tim holtz, maya road, dymo, bling, prima, floss, crackle paint, american crafts, jenni bowlin, floss, pearl, distresser, ink, Fiskars edge punch, old book page.

{2 more ART cards}

After attending the class with Connie last week, I really was inspired to make my own background on cards, and not just only make cards with patterned paper I have bought. So I made this background last evening, and finished the card today. The stamp is one of my new favorite stamps. The other stamp is from Stempelglede (grunge collection) - it's so vertisale! The text stamp is also new, from Norsk Stempelblad. The paint is MM and some hobby paint from Panduro (cheap one, I think).

The card made in class is this one. A bit plain, but I've mounted the card so I can't really undo it! The stamp was Connies, and it's Tim Holtz, really nice one! :)

I just had to order some paint, thank's to Connie! So today I ordered a lot of acrylic paint... but I got my paycheck today - so it's okay ;).
